A Proposed Mindanao Medical and Physical Rehabilitation Center

A first of its kind in Mindanao, DJF in cooperation with the ICRC, plans to build a larger community-based rehabilitation program for home-based care and rehabilitation for adults and children with disabilities. This project will house an Eye and Hearing Clinic, a Prosthetic and Orthopedic Department, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Facility and a Patient Dormitory. The project takes a holistic approach to health care facility design providing a livable and comfortable space for recovery and rehabilitation for those seeking orthosis and prosthesis treatments in Mindanao. The design approach considers the environmental, cultural, social and economic factors affecting the daily users aiming to reduce length of stay of patients, increased consumer satisfaction and Improve access and patient flow by incorporating indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly and maintain public confidence in the facilities as a dependable healthcare facility.
